Walhalla Historic Township was very lucky to be home to the Lee Brothers, who operated a photographic studio during the gold-era. Unlike most mountain gold towns, Walhalla has a vast record of photographs which chronicle the lives and times of the town. Over 900 glass plate negatives survive today and these photo have been put to good use when reconstruction occurs in Walhalla. The photo collection is also a fascinating glimpse of Walhalla 100 years ago, a bustling mine town compared to the sleepy ghost town we know today. This is just a mere sample of the photos available, we hope they give you a inspiration to explore more about Walhalla's unique history when you visit Walhalla's Star Hotel.
