Walhalla Road – Little Joe Hill

With its spectacular mountain location, simply getting to Walhalla 100 years ago was a major effort. The main coach road passed travelled from Toongabbie to Walhalla via Bruntons Bridge and Happy Go Lucky. The steep climb out of Walhalla over Mt. Little Joe presented a formidable task for the teamsters. This road was made redundant when the railway opened to Walhalla in 1910. The current road to Walhalla basically follows the route of the railway. Today, the road to Bruntons Bridge over Mt. Little Joe is an excellent 4WD outing.
