The Walhalla Goldfields Railway is the reconstruction of the most spectacular section of the original Moe - Walhalla railway which operated from 1910 until 1944. This unique narrow gauge train winds its way from Thomson to Walhalla Historic Township through Stringers Creek Gorge, crossing 8 bridges and travelling a distance of 4.5km. The trains operate on weekends, public holidays and the Summer and Easter holidays as well as Wednesdays. The Walhalla Goldfields Railway was reopened to Walhalla in March 2002.
Steam trains operate on the 1st weekend of the month from May to November.
