The Wally Wake-up is all about putting our best foot forward after the bushfires. This photo was taken as Walhalla's "signature" photo to be used in brochures and promotions around the world.

Walhalla's iconic band rotunda is about to undergo a major restoration. However it needed to be spruced-up for a photoshoot of the centre of Walhalla so 1/3 of the rotunda was painted...it looks a bit like a Hollywood set!

A major part of the Wally Wake-up project is renewing or installing signage. Walhalla's Star Hotel used photos from the gold-era to recreate the scene.

Post the December 2006 bushfire it was identified that Walhalla was looking a little sad. The town has started a program of improvements and repairs to make Walhalla shine. Over the next few months Walhalla will take on a new face, one that is proud and fully recovered from the fires.
